FFA Cup: Blacktown v Wanderers clash sold out!

The Westfield FFA Cup quarter-final ‘Western Sydney derby’ between giant-killers Blacktown City’s and the Wanderers is officially a sell-out.

A capacity crowd will cram into Lily Homes Stadium on Wednesday, September 20 as the PS4 NSW NPL outfit look to pull off a major ‘Cupset’ against Tony Popovic’s Hyundai A-League powerhouses.

Blacktown have been one of the fairytale stories of the 2017 Westfield FFA Cup, enjoying an incredible run to the last eight.

While the Mariners got back to 2-2, Joey Gibbs completed his brace in the second half to seal a famous 3-2 win for Blacktown.

They caused a major boilover in the Round of 32, with Joey Gibbs’ brace helping dump out Hyundai A-League club Central Coast Mariners 3-2.

Gibbs scored another double in the last 16 as City came from behind to beat fellow PS4 NSW NPL side APIA Leichhardt 3-1.

It’s the second-straight year Blacktown have made the last eight, going down to Sydney FC last year.

But this one will be even bigger against their western Sydney rivals.

The Wanderers have been impressive on their road to the quarters, beating Wellington Phoenix 1-0 in the opening round before crushing PS4 NPL Victorian side Bentleigh Greens 5-0 in the last 16.

Wanderers players celebrate progressing to the FFA Cup Quarter Finals.

The clash between Blacktown and the Wanderers at Lily Homes Stadium kicks off at 7.30pm and will be shown live on FOX SPORTS.
