Former Adelaide United midfielder Fabian Barbiero hopes MetroStars get to travel again in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32, and he's hailed the influence of his former teammate Travis Dodd at the club.
MetroStars were the last club to qualify for the 2016 FFA Cup's Round of 32, as they claimed South Australia's Federation Cup final 1-0 over Adelaide Comets at Coopers Stadium on Saturday.
While home advantage is widely accepted as a key factor in cup competitions, the first two years of the FFA Cup have bucked that trend.

In the national rounds of the 2014 and 2015 FFA Cups, home teams won 27 matches, while visiting sides triumphed on 35 occasions.
Last year, MetroStars prevailed 2-1 away to Blacktown City in the Round of 32 before returning home to Adelaide in the Round of 16 only to lose 1-0 to Oakleigh Cannons.
In 2014, MetroStars were crowned champions of the National Premier Leagues despite playing all three finals outside of South Australia.
"It would be good to get an interstate club, so that we can travel," Barbiero told Goal Australia ahead of Thursday's Round of 32 draw.
"We do quite well when we travel but if we draw an A-League side, so be it. I think it would be a good spectacle and hopefully we can draw a good crowd."
Barbiero was thrilled with MetroStars' "massive achievement" at qualifying for the FFA Cup's national rounds for the second year in a row.
The former Adelaide United midfielder believes a number of his younger team-mates could benefit from the national exposure.
Forward Liam Wooding, who scored MetroStars' winner against the Comets on Saturday, is one player Barbiero reckons could make an impact in the A-League, while he also rates Stefan Simic, Terry Theodorou and Bailey Truscott highly.
All have benefited from having ex-Adelaide and Perth Glory forward Travis Dodd as a team-mate this year.
"To get [Dodd] back involved, it's been fantastic," Barbiero said.
"It's great for the club and it's good for the young players. He's just great value.
"Obviously, being a captain as well at Adelaide, he's just got that experience and knowledge that he can pass on."
