BLACKTOWN EARN MOUTH-WATERING TIE

The classy striker was the two-goal hero for Blacktown City in a 3-1 win over APIA Leichhardt Tigers in their round-of-16 FFA Cup match at Lily Homes Stadium.

And City's reward is a quarter-final visit from Hyundai A-League neighbours Western Sydney Wanderers.

Blacktown City players celebrate a goal in their Westfield FFA Cup Rd of 16 win over APIA Leichhardt.

“It's a massive encounter,” Gibbs told Fox Sports shortly after the draw was revealed.

“The boys would have taken anything but it's a Western Sydney derby.

“We'll be buzzing for it,” he grinned.

GIBBS EXPECTS DERBY DAY ATMOSPHERE

Gibbs was part of the Western Sydney side that won the Premier's Plate in their inaugural Hyundai A-League season in 2012/13, scoring twice in 13 appearances.

And having experienced the incredible support of the Wanderers faithful, he knows just how big an occasion it will be.

“It's not bad getting Western Sydney here, especially with the fans they bring,” said Gibbs.

“Hopefully with the fans we'll bring, it'll be a spectacle out here.

“Getting Wanderers here will just be a massive occasion for the club.”
