Queensland to host first Cup ties for 2017

The road to the Westfield FFA Cup Final Rounds for the Football Brisbane Zone began with the Preliminary Round 2 draw.

A total of 38 teams went into the hat comprising 34 teams from Capital Leagues 4, 3, 2 along with the four lowest finishing clubs from Capital League 1 from last season.

One of those clubs, Moggill, dumped out PlayStation 4 NPL side Olympic FC last season and made it through to Round 6 before being knocked out by eventual Flight Centre Premier League Premiers Lions FC. They will host Annerley in their first Westfield FFA Cup tie of 2017.

The southern most club in the zone, Jimboomba United, enjoyed national coverage last season when they featured in Fox Sports' coverage of the grassroots community clubs competing in the Westfield FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds. Jimboomba will faceSpringfield United at Kurrajong Park to open their 2017 Cup campaign.

Perhaps the juiciest tie sees Caboolture at home to Centenary Stormers.

The Round 2 fixtures to be played on the weekend of 10-12 February.
