· Brisbane Strikers skipper Michael Angus was left at the team hotel with illness, but his side went on to beat Rovers Darwin 6-0 at Darwin Football Stadium, including three goals in six frenetic first half minutes.
· Defending Hyundai A-League champions Adelaide United were beaten by the second-oldest club in Queensland, going down 2-1 in extra-time to Redlands United at Perry Park, Paul O'Brien supplying the winner.
· Liam Boland's long-range stunner in added time gave Green Gully a famous 2-1 win over the Central Coast Mariners, the 24-year old Western Australian beating veteran goalkeeper Ivan Necevski with a memorable strike from 40 yards.
· A record Westfield FFA Cup round of 32 crowd of 8029 turned up at WIN Stadium in Wollongong to watch the Wolves go down 3-0 to Sydney FC, with Matt Simon scoring twice.
· The highest scoring clash was at Lilys Football Stadium where home side Blacktown City beat Sydney United 58 FC 6-2, with four of the goals – all for Blacktown – coming in extra-time. In fact, Sydney United 58 had led 2-0 after just 13 minutes!
· On his first team debut, striker Lachlan Scott steered Western Sydney Wanderers to a thrilling come-from-behind 3-2 win over fellow Hyundai A-League side Wellington Phoenix at Campbelltown Stadium, scoring twice in an eight-minute burst either side of half-time.
· Former Hyundai A-League striker Mirjan Pavlovic was booked, scoring a stunning goal and missed a shoot-out spot-kick as his Marconi Stallions went down 4-2 on penalties to Hume City FC after the scores were locked at 0-0 after 90 minutes and 1-1 at the end of extra-time.
· Having scored just six times in 103 Hyundai A-League appearances, defender Dino Djulbic netted twice in seven minutes to hand Perth Glory a 2-0 away win over Brisbane Roar.
