Just a day after Green Gully eliminated Central Coast Mariners, Redlands United went one better by shocking A-League champions Adelaide United 2-1.

The second-oldest football club in Queensland joined Gully and Adelaide City as the only lower-league clubs to beat A-League opposition in FFA Cup history, with midfielder Michael Lee inspiring Redlands' incredible victory.

Adelaide were generally cruising before and after they took the lead through the lively Ryan Kitto, but Redlands forced extra-time in the last minute of regulation.

As Stephen Green lifted a pass over the top, Lee gave chase on an apparent lost cause only for Adelaide goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic to fumble and Tarek Elrich to slip over, leaving the Redlands midfielder to score from a yard out.

Lee set up the winner seven minutes into extra-time, cutting the ball back to substitute Tyler Bradley-Combe, who squared a pass for Paul O'Brien to smash past Galekovic, sparking pandemonium at Perry Park in Brisbane.

Redlands were forced to hang tight throughout the second half of extra-time as Adelaide desperately searched for an equaliser, but with Jesse Makarounas, Ben Warland and Jordan Elsey failing to hit the target, the hosts held on for the biggest upset in FFA Cup history.

"When the Reds go marching in" bellowed out at Perry Park after the game. The Reds of Redland and not the Reds from Adelaide were left to celebrate a famous victory in Brisbane.
