A Donadel family gathering in the FFA Cup

"Tell us that’s not special..." write Yoogali Soccer Club on their Facebook page.

For what they've just witnessed brought a tear to the eye of many, as the third-generation of Donadel's all took to the pitch together in their FFA Cup win last Saturday.

Brothers Isaac and Jacob lined up alongside their two cousins, brothers Mason and Rueben in a truly Magic of the Cup moment.

Yoogali SC runs through the family's veins with their grandfather, Berto, a life member of the club, and all of his three children - two sons and a daughter - going on to play for the club.

And it extends even further than that, with Berto's granddaughter being none other than Westfield Junior Matilda Jordan Jasnos - first cousin of Isaac, Jacob, Mason and Rueben.

For all four Donadel's to be lining up in the same match together, it was a special moment for the family and the club, also adding to the occasion it being their first ever match in the FFA Cup.

And it proved to be a convincing win in the end for Yoogali, running out 6-0 winners against Gungahlin Juventus, with Mason getting two assists, Isaac winning a penalty & scoring a goal, and Jacob getting an assist.

Head Coach Luke Santolin - who's also a third-generation player at the Griffith-based club himself - was impressed with his side's performance.

"The pitch was awesome, it was so good it took time to get used to!" Santolin told theffacup.com.au.

"We started like a house on fire, getting a goal in the first minute, which probably wasn't the best thing for us because we relaxed straight away and were guilty of going through the motions for the next 20-30 minutes because we thought we had it over them.

"But Gungahlin are a proud club and they pushed hard, and they set up to frustrate us. But getting that goal before half time made it easer for us to relax in the second half.

"Our fitness and the amount of possession we had in the second half was just too much for them, and we broke away at the end and made it a dominant scoreline."

Yoogali will now play UC Stars in Round 4 of the FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds.
