Berisha: Victory took the Tuggies seriously

Hat-trick hero Besart Berisha has praised Melbourne Victory’s professionalism after avoiding any potential Westfield FFA Cup upset with a 6-0 demolition of Tuggeranong United on Tuesday night.

In front of a Viking Park ground record crowd of 5150, the Hyundai A-League giants made light work of contest with three goals  in each half to progress to the last eight.

Berisha was the star with his first treble for his new club while Matthieu Delpierre, Gui Finkler and Connor Pain – who also had three assists - also got on the scoresheet.

“You have to be professional in these games and you have to take it very serious,” Berisha told Fox Sports.

“Because for Melbourne Victory and the club it’s very important this Cup, this is the first year for everyone and it’s still very important.

“Sometimes you don’t know what to expect…you don’t know the teams, sometimes it’s difficult but tonight was a good game and a good win for us."

Asked about his hat-trick and how he is settling into life at his new club, Berisha said: “I really understand all the boys well.

“It took a while but now it’s going well and everyone understand my runs, I understand the game we want to play this year as well.”
