Big Saturday kicks off Cup fever in SA

South Australia will commence its Westfield FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds on Easter Saturday with a host of exciting match ups.

Couortesy of Football Federation South Australia, here are previews for two of the matches to open Westfield FFA Cup proceedings in the State.

 

Campbelltown City v West Adelaide

The road to the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 begins in South Australia on Saturday and one of the big matches of the weekend is between two early PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues SA pace setters Campbelltown City and West Adelaide.

Campbelltown secured a draw against Adelaide Blue Eagles last weekend and after eight rounds are part of a three-way tie for first, along with the Blue Eagles and their opponents on Saturday, West Adelaide.

Campbelltown have not claimed local Cup honours since 1994, but with Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 qualification now also an incentive it becomes an even more important competition.

West Adelaide’s 1-1 draw with Para Hills last Saturday proved a missed opportunity to go to the top of the table, but their opening to the campaign indicates they will be a force.

Adelaide Olympic v Adelaide Comets

The magic of the Westfield FFA Cup starts this weekend as Adelaide Olympic FC host Adelaide Comets. Both sides have had their ups and downs in their respective leagues and will want nothing more than progression to the next round.

Their opponents have also seen plenty of highs and lows in their respective league campaign.
