Canberra FC has locked down their spot in the FFA Cup Round of 32.
In what was also the Federation Cup final, two goals in the first half was enough to secure Canberra FC a 3-2 win over Gungahlin United on Saturday night.
There's just one spot left to play for now, and it's in the Northern Territory. Hellenic Athletic Club will face Verdi Football Club on June 23 to fight it out for the final spot in the Round of 32.
Gungahlin United opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a scrappy goal which fell nicely to Michael Rinaudo from a free kick.
Canberra FC levelled things up just four minutes later through Matt Grbesa, and former Brisbane Roar man Kofi Danning put Canberra ahead on the stroke of half-time.
Danning would pop up again in the 90th minute with a strong finish high into the back of the net to put Canberra two goals ahead with just injury time to play.
A tricky cross in from Gungahlin goal scorer Rinaudo went in via a heavy deflection from Canberra FC defender Daniel Subasic and made the score 3-2 late on.
Gungahlin wasn’t able to score another to level things up in injury time, and Canberra FC celebrated their passage through to the Round of 32.
It is the first time in Canberra FC history that the club has qualified for the Round of 32, and means there will be eleven clubs in the 2018 FFA Cup making their debut on the national stage.
The draw for the Round of 32 will take place on June 26, LIVE on FOX SPORTS.
