Canberra Olympic celebrate progression to FFA Cup Round of 32

Canberra Olympic will represent the ACT in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 after a comeback win in their decider over the weekend.

In a tight affair, Olympic were forced to come-from-behind to down Cooma Tigers 3-1 at Deakin Stadium in the nation's capital.

The Tigers started brightly and took a deserved lead in the 16th minute through Stephen Domeneci, with the attacker burying a low shot after an excellent cross from Nicholas Abot.

But the lead was short-lived with Olympic awarded a penalty just three minutes later after Jeremy Habtemariam was brought down inside the box.

Philippe Bernabo-Madrid converted from the spot to make it 1-1.

And Olympic took the lead just two minutes into the second stanza with Jordan Tsekenis firing a well-timed volley past Tigers keeper Jakob Cole.

The match turned into a bruising affair as the second half progressed with a total of eight yellow cards being issued.

Tigers searched desperately for an equaliser in the final 10 minutes but were caught exposed on the counter with Robbie Cattanach sealing the win for Olympic with five minutes remaining.

Canberra will be looking to emulate Tuggeranong United on the national stage after the ACT outfit progressed to the Round of 16 in 2014 before falling to Hyundai A-League powerhouse Melbourne Victory.
