Cracking match ups set for Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32

A mouth watering match up between New South Wales PlayStation 4 NPL club Wollongong Wolves and Hyundai A-League outfit Sydney FC is one of a host of cracking Westfield FFA Cup ties to come from the Round of 32 draw which was conducted earlier today at the FOX SPORTS studios in Sydney.

Wollongong Wolves coach Jacob Timpano won a Hyundai A-League Championship with Sydney FC and will now attempt to plot his former side’s downfall in what is set to be a memorable night in the Wollongong region.

The other three ties pitting a Member Federation club against a Hyundai A-League club sees Round of 32 debutants Redlands United from Queensland host current Hyundai A-League Champions Adelaide United, Victoria’s Green Gully against the Central Coast Mariners and WA’s Floreat Athena taking on Melbourne City FC.

There will be two PlayStation 4 NPL NSW derbies with Blacktown City against Sydney United 58 and Bonnyrigg White Eagles taking on Manly United, while MetroStars hosting 2014 semi finalists Bentleigh Greens rekindles the classic rivalry between South Australia and Victoria.

Making their third straight appearance in the Round of 32, FNQ Heat were finally drawn at home as they welcome Edgeworth Eagles to North Queensland.

The Westfield FFA Cup’s fairy tale story this year, Gold Coast based Surfers Paradise Apollo, will travel to the national capital to face Canberra Olympic, while Brisbane Strikers were drawn away for the third year running as they prepare to head to Darwin to face Rovers Darwin FC.

Brisbane Roar FC will host last year’s runners up Perth Glory, Wellington Phoenix will take on Western Sydney Wanderers FC and Newcastle Jets will welcome reigning Westfield FFA Cup holders Melbourne Victory in the three all-Hyundai A-League match ups.

The draw also saw the unveiling of a newly designed Umbro ball for this year’s Final Rounds that arose from a competition that gave the general public the chance to design the ball. There were joint winners with 11-year-old Jake Creasey creating the blue and yellow design, while James Officer introduced the idea of inscribing the names of all 648 clubs who competed in the Westfield FFA Cup in 2015.

A unique 14-panel design offers a clean strike zone and true, natural flight, with the Hexadimple outer casing designed in conjunction with Teijin offers superb elasticity and a softer touch.

FOX SPORTS will broadcast one match live and exclusive in full on each match day in the Round of 32, Round of 16 and Quarter Finals with LIVE streaming and updates of all other matches with both Semi Finals and the Westfield FFA Cup Final broadcast live and exclusive in full.

This year FOX SPORTS will also have a dedicated Westfield FFA Cup highlights show giving fans a chance to relive all of the action.
