Delighted Popovic praises his FFA Cup new boys

Western Sydney Wanderers boss Tony Popovic praised two of the new faces in his side for their thrilling come-from-behind Westfield FFA Cup win over Wellington Phoenix on Tuesday night.

The Wanderers looked headed for an early exit from the competition as they fell behind 2-0 against their Hyundai A-League rivals after 31 minutes.

But like they did in their incredible grand final qualifier against Brisbane Roar last season, the Wanderers responded with three unanswered goals to win 3-2.

Teenage striker Lachlan Scott scored a double on his senior debut before a Mitch Nichols thunderbolt 20 minutes from time sealed the result and booked their spot in the last 16.
