FFA confirms Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Semi Final details

The dates and venues of the Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Semi Finals have been confirmed by Football Federation Australia (FFA) today.

The first Semi Final will see PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues side South Melbourne FC host the reigning Hyundai A-League Champions Sydney FC at Lakeside Stadium, Melbourne on Wednesday 11 October 2017 (kick-off 7:30pm AEDT).

While Wednesday 11 October 2017 was not previously scheduled as an official Westfield FFA Cup match date for this year’s competition, venue availability at Lakeside Stadium necessitated a shift in the Semi Final scheduling.

FFA engaged with its stakeholders including the participating Clubs, the venue, as well as host broadcaster FOX SPORTS, to ensure the first Semi Final would be played at Lakeside Stadium and take the magic of the Westfield FFA Cup back to South Melbourne’s home ground, rather than the alternatives of playing the match in a neutral venue in Melbourne, or a reversed fixture in Sydney.

In the second Semi Final of this year’s Westfield FFA Cup, Western Sydney Wanderers FC will host Adelaide United at Campbelltown Stadium on Tuesday 24 October (kick-off 7:30pm AEDT) in an all Hyundai A-League affair.

FOX SPORTS will broadcast both Semi Final matches LIVE and EXCLUSIVE.

FFA can also confirm that the Westfield FFA Cup Final 2017 will be played on Tuesday 21 November 2017.
