The draw for the next stage of the FFA Cup was conducted in two federations on Monday, with some intriguing match-ups set to take place across South Australia and Northern NSW.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
The cup always brings with it a David v Goliath type clash, and the last 16 draw is no different in South Australia with giants Adelaide City set to face Ghan Kilburn City.
Ghan Kilburn knocked off five-time SA Cup winners White City in the round of 32 and will be out for another big scalp.
The other big match up in the South Australian draw is last year’s NPL champions Croydon Kings up against the current league leaders in Metrostars.
NORTHERN NSW
There’s another match-up in Northern NSW too, with third-tier Hamilton Azzurri set to face current NPL leaders Charlestown City Blues in the fourth round.
The two sides from the region which progressed to the Round of 32 proper last year, Broadmeadow Magic and Edgeworth Eagles, both play second-tier opposition in the next round.
There’s only one all-NPL clash in the draw, with Maitland Magpies facing Lake Macquarie City.
