FFA Cup midweek results wrap

The matches keep rolling on as we edge closer to the FFA Cup Round of 32, with matches in NSW and Victoria on Wednesday night completing their respective preliminary rounds.

In NSW, NPL 3 outfit St George City FA were the last team to book their spot in round 6 thanks to a 3-1 win over Maroubra United.

The Saints were in control for much of the night at Seymour Shaw, progressing thanks to a double from Peter Yannopoulos and another goal from Emanuel Koumis.

St George is now one of 20 teams left in NSW which will go into the pot for the Round 6 draw on Friday.

The draw will be streamed live from 11am via the Football NSW Facebook page.

Round 6 was completed in Victoria overnight, with Moreland Zebras knocking off Mornington FC 2-0.

After a couple of shocks in Victoria on Tuesday – including former semi-finalists Hume City bowing out – Moreland avoided any Cup boilover with a dominant display at CB Smith Reserve.

The FFV draw for Round 7 in Victoria will take place next Monday, 14 May and will also be streamed live on the FFV’s Facebook page at 12.30pm.

Finally, Round 5 got underway in the Northern Territory on Wednesday night and there was a big 5-0 win for Verdi FC over the MPH Vikings.

The next game in the Top End will take place next Wednesday night when Celtic FC takes on Stormbirds SC.
