FFA Cup quest kicks off in NSW

Football NSW has officially commenced its journey towards the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 when nine Round 2 Preliminary Round matches featuring 18 Association clubs took place across Sydney.

Moore Park was the scene as Lokomotiv Cove FC, a club formed by Sydney FC fans in 2006, proved too strong for Pascoe Tumut running out 6-0 victors setting up a round 3 tie against Ararat FC.

In the local Bankstown Association derby played out at Coleman Park, it was Padstow United that grabbed the headlines dishing out a 5-0 drubbing over Bankstown RSL Dragons.

Cammeray Oval was the scene for an epic encounter as the Chatswood Rangers took on the Abbotsford Junior FC. The game ended at 1-1 before the home side took the ascendancy in dreaded penalty shootouts as the the Junior FC side took out a 5-4 win to secure its spot in the next round of the Westfield FFA Cup.

Jardine Park saw as many as eight goals feature as Amity FC (pictured) defeated North Rocks SC 6-2 while at Hensley Athletic Field, Pagewood Botany FC smacked Bankstown Sports Strikers 6-1 to advance to the next stages of the Cup.
