The Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 draw will take place on Wednesday 12 August 2015 at 4pm AEST on the set of Fox Sports News in Sydney.
Following this evening’s final four Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 matches, seven Hyundai A-League clubs and nine Member Federation teams will remain in the competition.
Already through to the last 16 includes the reigning Westfield FFA Cup holders, Adelaide United, and the reigning Hyundai A-League Premiers & Champions, Melbourne Victory, as well as six Member Federation clubs who will feature in the Round of 16 for the first time.
The principles for the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 draw will see each of the remaining clubs numbered at the completion of the Round of 32, with the Hyundai A-League clubs placed in Pot A and the Member Federation clubs in Pot B.
To fulfil the Westfield FFA Cup regulations that stipulate that at least one non Hyundai A-League club must reach the semi finals of the competition, the format for the draw is set out in order to achieve such a result.
The Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 will comprise two all Hyundai A-League matches, three all-Member Federation fixtures and three Member Federation v Hyundai A-League encounters.
The Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Round of 16 draw will be conducted by former Socceroos Ante Milicic and Pablo Cardozo, the duo having also enjoyed decorated playing careers in the NSL, including tenures with two clubs in the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Round of 16, Sydney United 58 FC and Sydney Olympic.
The Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Round of 16 draw will be shown LIVE on Fox Sports News (Channel 500) and also streamed online at www.theffacup.com.au and www.foxsports.com.au.
Once the draw has been conducted, the specific match details in regards to dates, venues, kick-off times and broadcast details will be announced by Friday 14 August 2015.
The eight matches in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 will be played across two nights with four matches per night on either of the following dates – Tuesday 25 August or Wednesday 26 August, and Tuesday 1 September or Wednesday 2 September.
FOX SPORTS will broadcast a match on both nights of the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 and provide updates and crosses to the other six matches. The non broadcast matches will also be streamed online at www.foxsports.com.au/football/ffa-cup/ffacupondemand and Apple TV via FOX SPORTS Now.
