FFA Cup South Australia Round Of 16 Preview

Elizabeth Downs welcome Playford Patriots to Argana Park tonight in a mouthwatering 'Battle Of The North,' with a place in a quarter-final on offer, and in turn, a game closer to the FFA Cup national stages. Bragging rights are well and truly on the line.

Divided by Main North Road and their home bases located just 3kms apart, this epitomises the meaning of the word 'derby,' and has some tasty head to heads to add spice to the storyline.

The Farrell brothers will be going head-to-head tonight. Nathan, formally of Croydon Kings and Modbury Jets, took the jump into the SAASL this season for the Downs, while his younger brother Josh plays his allegiance to Playford, after playing for tonight's opponents last season.

Playford enter the match off the back of an 8-0 drubbing of Eastern United in their SL1 clash last week, with Josh bagging four goals by himself.

The Downs have well and truly made Argana a fortress, having knocked off State League One side Para Hills Knights 3-2 in extra time in the last round. Playford though will be well up for the task, after an impressive 2-1 victory over NPL outfit Adelaide Blue Eagles in the Round of 32.

Downs will be without key striker Matt Watson who is forced to miss the match through injury.

Elsewhere, it's the Damian Mori derby on Saturday afternoon, with White City hosting Adelaide City at Frank Mitchell Park, while the high flying Adelaide Comets welcome the in-form State League One outfit Adelaide Victory to SA Athletics Stadium.

NPL Champions Campbelltown City host Port Adelaide on Saturday in an intriguing affair. MetroStars visits SAASL side, Brahma Lodge, while Travis Dodd's Croydon FC travels to Salisbury United.

Fulham United welcome Olympic to West Beach, with Sturt Lions making the trip North to face Modbury Vista, to complete a round that sees all NPLSA sides dodge each other.

Time for some more cupsets?
