Westfield FFA Cup SA Round 1 Preview – West Adelaide vs. South Adelaide

When: Saturday March 25th, 2:30 pm
Where: Marden Sports Complex, Lower Portrush Road, Marden
5RTI Sport Radio broadcast available HERE.

West Adelaide and South Adelaide travel to Marden Sports Complex on Saturday, the venue where reputations will either be strengthened or shattered, in their First Round encounter of the Westfield FFA Cup.

The Cup rounds always throw up the unexpected, and this battle between two old foes promises more surprises.

South Adelaide has a lot to prove, after losing their battle for relegation to the State League at the end of last season. While West Adelaide will be looking for a confidence boosting win to launch themselves into the next round of the competition and a step closer to a performance on the big stage.

West’s dynamic Rideout brothers come up against their old side, and Danny Greystone’s men will need to keep a tight rein on the duo. In West’s forward half John Karatzas, Ricardo Da Silva and Jonathan Rideout have been in sparkling form after five rounds of the PlayStation 4 National Premier League season, and they hold the key to a West victory.

South Adelaide will be without their coach Danny Greystone for this game.

The emotional coach was sent to the stands after an indiscretion last week.

Westfield FFA Cup SA Round 1 Preview – Adelaide City vs. Adelaide Cobras

Where: Adelaide City Park, Fosters Road, Newton
When: Saturday 25 March, 2:30pm

Adelaide City will embark on their Westfield FFA Cup journey which will start with their Round 1 clash against Adelaide Cobras at Adelaide City Park on Saturday.

When Adelaide City is mentioned, we think of a successful, great and historical Club, and at the present day, coached by former Socceroo, Damien Mori who is continuously commended for his work on the sidelines.

Recalling back to the night of the 12th of August, 2014, The Black and Whites’ had remarkably stunned their glamorous opponent, Hyundai A-League heavyweights, Western Sydney Wanderers in the first season of the competition.

The events of that match is what the Magic of the Cup truly represents, when a National Premier League side shines in the national spotlight.

Thomas Love’s solo wonder goal that ultimately knocked out the Wanderers, will be a memory of epic proportions that will live long in the hearts of Adelaide City, and their fans.

Fast forwarding to this year, 2017, Adelaide City have unsurprisingly sparked their PlayStation 4 National Premier League season in the best way possible, currently undefeated, which sees them hold top place on the league standings.
