How a Kardashian helped supercharge FFA Cup star’s career

It’s not too often an Aussie footballer can thank a Kardashian for helping kick-start their career but that’s exactly the case for Gold Coast City’s Westfield FFA Cup star Nikola Mirkovic.

The 22-year-old not only runs the show in City’s midfield but he was also named as one of the Top 20 entrepreneurs under 40 in the latest Queensland Business Monthly.

Along with mate Alex Tomic, the pair started an online teeth whitening company called HiSmile back in 2014.

Starting with just $20,000 to their name, the pair sent half of their first batch of products to celebrities and online influencers free, in the hope it would catapult their brand.

And the move paid off with their business now an eight-figure brand thanks to social media endorsements by the likes of Kardashian Kylie Jenner.

“We saw a lack of innovation and excitement in the teeth whitening and oral hygiene
space,” Mirkovic told Queensland Business Monthly.

“We felt that we had the ability to introduce a brand that people cared about as well as products that were effective and aesthetically appealing to the market.”

While his product helps teeth sparkle, Markovic will be hoping it’s City shining bright when they begin their Westfield FFA Cup campaign next month.

Grae Piddick’s men will host WA surprise-packets Western Knights at the Mallawa Sporting Complex in Palm Beach on Wednesday, August 2.
