Kingston City and Bentleigh eye ticket to the Round of 32

It will take a monumental form reversal for Kingston City to make the FFA Cup Round of 32 tomorrow night.

The Clayton South-based National Premier Leagues club have lost six of their last seven league matches to sit dangerously close to the bottom of the ladder.

But Kingston's FFA Cup run has belied their poor league form and they're now poised on the brink of qualification for the national stage of the competition.

In the last round, City overcame NPL side Oakleigh Cannons away from home, clinching an unlikely 2-1 victory.

Blocking their way to the prestigious Round of 32 are Bentleigh Greens, a team that has a proud history in the competition, memorably reaching the Semi-Finals in 2014.

Unlike Kingston, Bentleigh have been in supreme form and sit at the top of the NPL Victoria ladder after a dozen matches

They did however suffer their first defeat of the season on Sunday, losing 4-3 to Port Melbourne Sharks.

Anything can happen in the FFA Cup, and with a precious place in the Round of 32 up for grabs, expect a boisterous home crowd at The Grange Reserve on Wednesday evening.
