NSW Round 7 Preview: Round of 32 spots on the line

They are the hottest football tickets in NSW and it’s the 4 FFA Cup Round of 32 spots that will be up for grabs as Round 7 of the Preliminary fixtures take shape tonight.

Two matches will take centre stage this evening, at Lambert Park APIA Leichhardt FC host Hakoah FC while at Lily Homes Stadium, Blacktown City face the Marconi Stallions.

The battle in the Inner West will be an interesting fixture as Paul Dee’s APIA side take on a stacked Hakoah FC outfit full of experience with the hope of knocking out their highly fancied opponents.

Currently sitting in fourth position on the NPL 2 NSW Men’s ladder, coach Luka Hrzina will see this as a huge opportunity for his chargers to fly the flag for the competition and why wouldn’t he when you have the likes of James Demetriou, James Baldacchino, Jacob Esposito, Nikolas Loe, Bruno Mendes, Marco Arambasic and Yianni Spyrakis to name a few ready to do battle and at your disposal.

For the hosts, APIA have turned the corner in a better way since the arrival of Dee as he will no doubt be chasing that final spot like no other for the proud NPL club.

Franco Parisi, Sean Symons, Ivan Necevski, Themba Muata-Marlow, Paul Galimi, Will Mutch and Matthieu Cordier are just some of the stars that will be raring to go when 7:30pm hits.

Across town it will be a titanic battle at Lily Homes Stadium when two strong outfits in Blacktown City and Marconi Stallions go head-to-head in what will be a firecracker of a match.

Those unable to attend the game will be able to watch this LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on the National Premier Leagues NSW Facebook page with Tony Tannous commentating but it’s certainly a match that is set to explode.

Mark Crittenden is no stranger to big matches as is his counterpart Peter Tsekenis, as both coaches know the importance of what an FFA Cup Round of 32 spot means to each of their clubs.

City will hope they can carry its league form into this match while the Stallions’ never say die attitude will definitely put them in good stead for this match-up.

It will be a flurry of NPL NSW stars on show as Travis Major, Mario Shabow, Tristan Prendergast, Grant Lynch, Matt Lewis, Marko Jesic, Chris Hatfield, Connor Evans, the Speranza brothers, Nathan Millgate and Nenad Vekic are just some of the players that will be giving it their all for the clubs.

The remaining two matches will take place on Wednesday 16th of June.
