PS4 NPL sides avoid each other in Tassie Cup draw

The draw for the Round of 16 of the Lakoseljac Cup and next step towards deciding the Tasmanian entrant for the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 has been conducted.

Members of the Lakoseljac family were present to help conduct the draw as all eight of the PlayStation 4 NPL Tasmania sides playing in the top division remarkably managed to avoid each other in the draw .

The PS4 NPL Tasmania clubs will face sides from the Southern and Northern Championships in their respective matches.

The Round of 16 is set to be played on Monday 17 April and for many sides it will be their first step on the road to the Westfield FFA Cup.

The pick of the Cup ties sees Glenorchy Knights taking on Kingborough Lions at KGV. The Knights have made no secret of their desire to return to the top flight and have outlaid some serious money to assemble a squad many feel has the quality to mix it with the best NPL sides. They now get the chance to prove with a draw against a Kingborough side still trying to claim their first victory who might just be vulnerable to a cup upset.

It is one of two all-Southern affairs with Beachside set to host current NPL League leaders Hobart Zebras at Sandown Park in the other one.

Six of the eight NPL sides will face a road trip, with only Clarence, playing host to Somerset and Northern Rangers hosting Nelson drawn to play at home.

South Hobart and Olympia will head north as they were drawn to travel up to Launceston United and Ulverstone respectively whilst two Northern based NPL sides in Devonport and Launceston City will head South to meet Hobart United and Devonport.

The Round of 16 will take place on Easter Monday, 17 April, with the quarter finals taking place a fortnight later.
