Queensland clubs qualify for the FFA Cup Round of 32

Four clubs from Queensland have qualified for the FFA Cup Round of 32 after an action-packed weekend in the Sunshine State. 

National Premier Leagues sides Lions FC, Peninsula Power and Gold Coast Knights advanced to the national stage, alongside community club Edge Hill United.

Lions FC qualified with a dramatic 2-1 win over Brisbane City. Locked at 1-1 heading into the final stages, Lions were awarded a penalty in the 90th minute, converting the spot kick to advance to the Round of 32 for a third time. 

Peninsula Power qualified for the Round of 32 for a second time with a nail-biting 2-1 win over Olympic FC. Also locked at 1-1, Peninsula scored from the spot in the 70th minute and held on for a memorable win. 

Edge Hill United became the first community club to qualify for the Round of 32 in 2021, defeating Magpies Crusaders United 3-1 on Saturday. It will be the first ever appearance for Edge Hill in the Final Rounds. 

And on Sunday, Gold Coast Knights became the final club from Queensland to qualify for the Round of 32 following a convincing 4-0 win over Sunshine Coast Wanderers. It will be the Knights' second appearance in the national Final Rounds.
