Hakoah Sydney City survived a major scare before downing Hills United 6-3 in the Round of 32.

Re-live the Magic of the Cup: Hakoah prevail in nine-goal thriller

Hakoah Sydney City East started strong favourites against their lower-league opposition in this all-Sydney Round of 32 Westfield FFA Cup tie.

But it turned out to be classic Cup tie in Sydney’s west with momentum swinging from one side to the other in an absorbing 120 minutes.

PS4 NSW NPL2 strugglers Hills United led three times against Hakoah – from NPL1 – only to be pegged back on each occasion, including a last-minute equaliser from Neil Jablonski.

Jablonski’s goal came just eight minutes after Bradley Robertson’s stunning free-kick looked like it had won the match for Hills.

So it would be extra-time that would decide this see-sawing encounter at Lily Homes Stadium.

Substitute Gideon Sweet gave Hakoah the lead for the first time in the first half of extra-time.

Then Aleksandar Lekoski and Lee Jones got on the scoresheet in the second period of extra-time to end any hope of a Hills United upset.
