Saturday night FFA Cup decider in the Top End

FFA Cup football will be the talk of the town in the Top End when the Northern Territory’s entrant for this year’s Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 will be decided on Saturday night.

Darwin's Shamrock Rovers will meet Alice Springs outfit Scorpions in a winner-takes-all clash at the Darwin Football Stadium.

The winner progresses into the draw for the Round of 32 and a possible match-up against a Hyundai A-League club.

If the semi-finals for both clubs is anything to go by, it will be a dramatic decider.

Rovers survived 120 minutes and a marathon penalty shootout to get past Darwin Olympic in the last round.

In their first season in the Norzone top flight, Rovers edged Olympic 7-6 on penalties.

Scorpions reached this stage with a 1-0 win over Celtic FC earlier this month thanks to Robert Davies’ goal 15 minutes from time in the Alice Springs decider.

Both NT clubs are now just 90 minutes away from joining the 32 clubs who've progressed through the preliminary rounds.

It promises to be an absolute ripper on what will be a memorable night for football in the Top End.
