Semi Final stage upon us in Tasmania

It’s Semi Final weekend in Tasmania with a spot not only in the Lakoseljac Cup final on the line but also the chance to fight it out for the state’s sole berth in the 2019 FFA Cup Round of 32.

The action kicks off on Saturday as Devonport Strikers – Tasmania’s FFA Cup representatives in 2016 and 2018 – taking on underdogs University.

University – who play in the second division in Tassie – face a giant ask against the NPL ladder leaders but have made a habit of pulling off a few upsets on their run to the semis.

Helping their cause is news Devonport’s star player Guillermo Lazcano has left the club.

The second Semi Final on Sunday is an all-NPL affair between South Hobart and Olympia.

The two sides have met twice in the NPL this season and have played out two thrilling matches, including a 3-3 draw in their most recent clash.

There is little between these two sides and this should be a cracking Cup tie at Darcy Street.

Semi Finals
