Sydney FC cruise into Westfield FFA Cup Final

Sydney FC have cruised into the Westfield FFA Cup final after a 3-0 win over Canberra Olympic in the nation's capital on Wednesday night.

They now wait to face either Melbourne Victory or Melbourne City, who meet next Tuesday night.

Goals from Sebastian Ryall, Milos Dimitrijevic and the returning Bernie Ibini settled the result in front of 5,581 fans at Viking Park, but the Sky Blues were pushed all the way by their ACT opposition.

Olympic troubled the Sky Blues in the early stages of the match with their high defensive line, while striker Philippe Bernabo-Madrid had the first shot on goal with an athletic bicycle kick.

At the other end Bobo came close to opening the scoring midway through the first-half when he sprung the offside trap but Olympic’s goalkeeper Angelo Konstantinou made a strong save to deny his shot.

The Sky Blues found the back of the net from the resulting corner however through the head of Ryall, while Alex Brosque came close before half-time hitting the bar.

The home side had their captain to thank for keeping them in the contest in the second stanza, with the Futsalroos stopper making numerous clutch saves before Dimitrijevic found a way past from a set-piece.

Bernie Ibini capped his return from a serious ankle injury with a goal off the bench to seal the result.
