Sydney FC claimed the final Australia Cup semi-final place on Sunday afternoon with a strong display against fellow A-Leagues opposition Western United.

Sydney FC produced a solid performance to down Western United 3-0 at Leichhardt Oval.  

The Sky Blues took the lead 11 minutes in when Joe Lolley slipped Anthony Caceres into the right channel of the box, allowing the midfielder to slot the ball into the bottom left corner.

Lolley was involved in Sydney’s second goal half an hour in; his driven ball from the right of the box found Patrick Wood centrally, who made no mistake from close range.

Lolley’s creative ways continued in the second half, with his right-sided driven ball finding Jack Rodwell, who steered home at the back post in the 67th minute to confirm Sydney's passage through.
