The goals flew in on matchday two of the Australia Cup Quarter Finals as Brisbane Roar made the Semi-finals by downing Western Sydney Wanderers in a six-goal thriller.

Brisbane advanced to the final four of the competition for the second consecutive year and will now look to go one further and reach their maiden Australia Cup Final.

Brisbane Roar FC: 4 (Carlo ARMIENTO 29’, Thomas WADDINGHAM 40’, Joe CALETTI 64’, Henry HORE 72’)
Western Sydney Wanderers FC: 2 (Marcus ANTONSSON 18’, Jack CLISBY 57’)

On Saturday, Brisbane Roar stunned Western Sydney Wanderers 4-2 at Perry Park to secure their passage through to the semi-finals.

Marcus Antonsson steered home an accurate close-range finish inside 18 minutes to give the visitors the lead and make it three goals in two games for the new striker.

Carlo Armiento squeezed a finish inside the left post half an hour in to equalise for Brisbane.

Then, Thomas Waddingham got on the end of a left-sided cross with five first-half minutes to play to put the side in front heading into halftime.

Jack Clisby equalised for Western Sydney just before the hour mark, hitting a well-struck effort from outside the box that nestled in the right side of the net.

But Joe Caletti put the Roar back in front, unleashing a fierce effort of his own a few minutes later, following a corner.

Henry Hore added a fourth for the Roar in the 72nd minute with a purposeful run into the area, followed by a sharp finish to secure Brisbane a semi-final berth.
