Inter Lions FC secured their spot in the Australia Cup Round of 32 with an exhilarating upset over NPL NSW Men title challengers Rockdale Ilinden FC.
The home side opened the scoring in the fifth minute through a stunner from former A-League Men star Daniel Georgievski, before captain Sam Armson doubled their lead clinically 18 minutes later.
Rockdale Ilinden’s comeback was too little, too late as they halved the deficit in the 93rd minute but to no avail, as Inter Lions made history for their club and the Football NSW League 1 competition as a whole.
