Hume City knocked out in shock FFA Cup result

As we continue the qualifying towards the FFA Cup Round of 32, there have been a couple of upsets out of Victoria as Oakleigh Cannons and Hume City fell on Tuesday night.

There were a total of six games played in the Football Federation Victoria Round 6 FFA Cup qualifiers, with Moreland Zebras and Mornington SC still to play on Wednesday night.

There was also one game played in Football Federation Northern Territory where 2015 Round of 32 representatives Darwin Olympic SC fell 4-0 to Hellenic Athletic Club in Round 4 qualifying.

But it was down in Victoria where two other upsets occurred involving Oakleigh and Hume City.

FFA Cup 2015 quarter-finalists Oakleigh Cannons lost 2-1 at home to Kingston City FC.

But the big shock took place in Richmond, with the Victorian State League 1 South-East team Richmond SC beating their more fancied NPL opponents Hume City - semi-finalists in 2015 - after extra time.

Erlantz Pinedo Lopez and Arnold Suew scored Richmond’s two goals in an eventual 2-1 win.

Finally, North Sunshine Eagles – who theffacup.com.au have been following over the previous qualifying rounds – have fallen to Avondale FC 4-0 to end their dream run.
