Incentive for local clubs with NAB Golden Goals

NAB is giving Member Federation clubs an added bonus if they manage to score against Hyundai A-League opposition in the Westfield FFA Cup 2015.

If toppling a Hyundai A-League giant in the Westfield FFA Cup was not already enough motivation, NAB is giving semi-professional and grassroots clubs even more incentive with the NAB Golden Goals initiative.

During the Westfield FFA Cup, for any goal scored by a semi-professional or grassroots club against a Hyundai A-League team, NAB will donate $2,500 to the goal-scorer’s club. To earn the cash, the club just needs to score a goal during regular or extra time.

A Westfield FFA Cup partner, NAB has a strong emphasis and focus on support for grassroots football and clubs, came up with the incentive to reward those clubs that manage to find the back of the net against their more fancied Hyundai A-League opponents.

Thanks to the fancy footwork of these local heroes, prize money will be allocated to improving the club’s facilities, preserving the future of local football and setting them up for ongoing success.

Last year in the inaugural edition of the Westfield FFA Cup, four second tier clubs scored one goal each against Hyundai A-League opposition, undoubtedly the most notable the scintillating run and strike by Thomas Love that saw Adelaide City eliminate Western Sydney Wanderers from the competition.

Now this year NAB wants to reward these underdog accomplishments by giving the clubs $2,500 for each goal they score against a Hyundai A-League team.

NSW State League 1 club Balmain Tigers FC and Edgeworth FC from Northern NSW Football will have the opportunity to claim the first NAB Golden Goals when they take on Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City FC respectively tomorrow night in Match Day 2 of the Round of 32.

The match between Balmain Tigers FC and Melbourne Victory will be LIVE and exclusive on FOX SPORTS 505 while there will be updates and crosses to the other three matches on the night.
