Kemps Creek United hyped about FFA Cup opener

Southern Districts Soccer Football Association side Kemps Creek United are eagerly anticipating its opening FFA Cup NSW Preliminary Round 1 clash against a strong Lilli Pilli FC outfit hailing from the Sutherland Shire Football Association when the two clash on Sunday 14th of March at Bill Anderson Reserve with a 4pm kick-off.

The ‘Mighty Tigers’, like 2019, have planned a huge party like atmosphere to will the boys to hopeful victory as Kemps Creek United set their sights in progressing further into Australia’s most prestigious knockout Cup competition.

“The FFA Cup is the pinnacle event on the footballing calendar, certainly for our senior teams”, Kemps Creek United Club President Ross Maiorana stated to Football NSW.

“Since first entering in 2019, the Club has looked forward to the spectacle and challenge of this now prestigious tournament.

“It is the one football event that bring the whole Club together and barracking for the one team.

“The Club is proposing a carnival like event involving a number of our junior teams in pre-match and half time mini-games and activities, as well as forming a guard of honour for the two competing teams as they enter the field.”

Boosting as many as 35 teams across the club with over 450 registered players and officials, Bill Anderson Reserve will be rocking and rolling when the Shire boys come to Sydney’s West.

Asked how the club’s senior team was progressing for the big encounter against a very tough side in Lilli Pilli FC, Maiorana stated that they’ll need to be at their very best to beat one of NSW grassroots football’s big clubs.

“The Senior Team is probably a little underdone at this time of the season but has had two trial games in recent weeks and feel they are starting to bond as a unit.

“They look forward to the challenge, knowing full well it won’t be an easy one against one of the largest and strongest Community Football Clubs in Sydney in Lilli Pilli.”
