Palmy Army star in Glitter Strip Cup derby!

On Tuesday night, in the heart of high-rises and happy holidaymakers, a cracking Cup story is set to play out when the Gold Coast Derby takes centre stage.

It's Queensland PS4NPL powerhouse Palm Beach Sharks versus in-form Broadbeach United - or the Palmy Army versus Broadie to the locals - who'll roll up in big numbers to Nikiforides Family Park for a "Super Tuesday" Cup classic.

This clash will determine the last team from the Gold Coast remaining in the Westfield FFA Cup, so it's going to be huge.

Palm Beach were undoubtedly one of the great stories to come out of last season's Westfield FFA Cup, having knocked out South Springvale in the Round of 16 before losing in the quarter-finals to Hyundai A-League opposition in Central Coast.

But Broadbeach have Cup upset on their minds and are in stellar form on the Gold Coast.

United compete in the Football Gold Coast’s third-tier BLK Premier League and are the competition’s form team in 2015 - winning their opening seven games of the season and boasting a six point lead atop the eight-team table.

However, Sharks will benefit from their intra-club coaching network, with their own BLK Premier League community side falling to Broadbeach 3-1 in March.

Sharks have made a steady but unspectacular start to their league title defence in 2015 and currently sit seventh in the standings, with three wins from their opening six fixtures.

The winner of Gold Coast Zone Qualifying Round 5 will advance to face the victor of the South West Queensland Zone Qualifying Round 5 match between PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland club

South West Queensland Thunder and Football Toowoomba Premier Men’s outfit West Wanderers.

Wherever you are on the Goldie, do not miss this Westfield FFA Cup Gold Coast Zone Qualifying Round 5 super clash.
