Re-live the Magic of the Cup: South Melbourne's Injury-time heroics

Crossbars, reflex saves, and a last minute winner. South Melbourne and Edgeworth Eagles battled out an exciting Round of 32 Westfield FFA Cup match, with South triumphing with seconds to spare.

It was an evening where nearly 2500 fans were treated to a typically spectacular game of Cup football.

Newcastle-based Edgeworth travelled to Lakeside Stadium and looked to be in control throughout the first half and were unlucky not to go ahead when a Daniel McBreen header was deflected onto the cross bar out.

South keeper Nicola Roganovic kept his side in the tie with some impressive saves and it seemed to stir the home team into action come the second half.

Coming out of the dressing rooms with more intensity, the home side looked to take a hold of the game but were almost stopped in their tracks when another McBreen header was certain to hit the net but for a reflex save from Roganovic.

As time ticked on Edgeworth seemed to be settling for extra-time, yet a late push from South Melbourne saw the winning goal struck in the dying embers of the game.

A perfectly delivered corner was met by a header from Milos Lujic in the 94th minute, sending his team into the Round of 16 among jubilant scenes.
