2015: Rising star Schroen outlasts Oakleigh

Hume City enjoyed a captivating run to the final four in 2015 that included an incredible extra-time victory over Brisbane Strikers in the Round of 32.

It was clearly just a warm-up for their eventual Quarter Final clash with NPL Victoria rivals Oakleigh Cannons, another thriller that went all 120 minutes.

Marcus Schroen, who had three goals in the tournament up to that point, was once more the hero with his 118th-minute strike deciding a terrific contest.

Hume earlier looked out of it as they twice trailed in the first half, before Theo Markelis' 84th-minute equaliser - his second of the night - set the stage for Schroen.

2016: Blacktown's mind-boggling comeback

Perhaps the most extraordinary match in FFA Cup history took place at Lily Holmes Stadium between Blacktown City and Sydney United in 2016.

It all seemed to be running the visitors' way when Chris Payne and Robbie Mileski put them two up inside 13 minutes before Joey Gibbs gave Blacktown a lifeline before half-time.

Patrick Antelmi pulled scores level late in proceedings and then, in extra time, absolute madness unfolded.

Danny Choi scored from inside his own half, Mitch Mallia made it four unanswered goals with another eight minutes later and Antelmi notched twice more to sew up an incomprehensible 6-2 result.

2017: Wanderers get out of jail against Blacktown

Blacktown seems to have a knack of saving their best for fellow New South Wales sides.

In 2017, it was Western Sydney Wanderers given a huge fright as the Hyundai A-League outfit were made to escape on penalties.

James Andrew cancelled out Oriol Riera's early opener and delighted a rapturous home crowd by giving them the lead in extra-time.

Riera responded, though, and it was the Spanish striker that later stuck away the winning spot-kick, ultimately dashing Blacktown's dreams on another memorable night for the club.

2018: Queensland rivalry renewed into five-goal epic

Lions FC and Olympic FC battled for the NPL Queensland title all season in 2018 and their duel crossed over to the FFA Cup in dramatic fashion in the Round of 32.

Matija Simic and Jheison Macuace opened up a two-goal Lions advantage that was erased after half-time by Zelfy Nazary and Jez Lofthouse.

The equaliser came in the 81st minute but there was still time for further action.

Three minutes from the end, Macuace got the better of a tight offside call and squared for Carter Glockner to send the home fans into ecstasy.
